While it adapts a
full 3D rendering
in both character and background, Magic Tekken 4 has limited replayability or entertainment value. It feels
shallow and repetitive
, especially since there is
no concept or uniqueness
that makes the character stand out. You can check out

A loose indie fighting title
In terms of visuals, Magic Tekken 4 is passable. Its 3D rendering is reminiscent of
Shadow Fight 3
, but with a more casual theme. One possible cause of concern, however, is the
app icon
which features Jin Kazama from the Bandai Tekken franchise. Now, the game features
three fighting modes
: Player vs Player, Player vs CPU, and CPU vs CPU. The third fighting mode lets you watch computer players fight.
As mentioned, there are
eight playable characters
. For some reason, two of them share the same character portrait despite being separate personas. The controls are intuitive, though, combining a left-hand directional joystick and a
six-button action layout
. Gameplay-wise, it has a couple of modern fighting mechanics such as
projectiles
, air combos, and even
juggling
. This gives the game a sense of enjoyment, especially for new players.
However, the game lacks a general direction. It has
no story or premise
, and the characters have
no voice lines
or sound effects aside from the sound of blows given. Additionally, for some reason, about half of its roster
shares the same move set
. In spite of varying character models, they do the exact same moves depending on the character input.
Slightly playable
Overall, there are a lot of better-made fighting games for mobile than Magic Tekken 4. Its confusing name and app icon aside, the game only offers limited enjoyability, offered by its 3D rendering and the
intuitive arcade-style controller
. There are a lot of elements in this game that screams low production value. If you’re looking for a fighting game for mobile, check out other titles instead.
